Increased assurance and quality supporting medication management
Benefits of the Axitare medicine dispenser
Ease of use means wide applicability
Axitare is the easiest-to-use medicine dispenser on the market. The medicine dispenser dispenses the medication dose at the right time and addresses the person by their own name, prompting them to take their medication. The dose is served in a medication cup, which is easy to take from the device. For home care clients, the Axitare medicine dispenser is the easiest-to-use solution on the market — no need to press buttons, just take the cup. This enables the medicine dispenser to be used even by those who find it difficult to take their medication from a sachet.
Safe and flexible
The medicine dispenser monitors whether doses are taken. If a dose is missed, an immediate alert is sent to home care staff. The nurse then contacts the client and based on their assessment, can remotely dispense the missed dose—helping to avoid an unplanned home visit.
Remote features reduce home visits
Medication doses can be dispensed automatically or via the remote care system, which the nurse can use smoothly on a phone or computer. The nurse can remotely dispense medication in real time and, if necessary, verify medication intake during a video call.
Significant cost savings for wellbeing services counties
Reducing home visits related to medication administration saves nurses’ time and travel. 40–70% of home care clients are ready to adopt Axitare. One nurse’s annual working time is covered on average by just ten medicine dispensers.
Quick setup
The Axitare medicine dispenser can be deployed immediately for new home care clients. It can be filled with medications either from dose sachets or pharmacy packaging, or both. This allows existing, already-paid-for medications to be utilized and benefiting from the dispenser starts right away.
Video call-assisted medicine dispensing and remote care
The video call unit can be attached to and detached from the medicine dispenser as needed. The nurse can rotate and zoom the camera during the video call. This enables higher quality and more reliable medication management. The large screen and excellent image quality help the client communicate with the nurse and engage in remote care.
No button pressing — just pick up the medication cup
The medicine dose is presented automatically. There is one button on the device, but the client does not need to press it. If they do press the round button on the front panel of the device, the dispenser gently announces the date, the time, and when the next medication dose is due. The button is used when filling the dispenser, at which point the device guides the nurse through the filling process.
Medication robot with human touch
Our medicine dispenser addresses the client in their own native language and by their first name. It does not sound like a cold medication robot, but rather like a gentle and human care companion.

Our technical support monitors bug reports remotely
The medicine dispensers are connected to the remote care system used by carers and relatives via a wireless network. At the same time, our technical support monitors the operation of the devices in real time. For example, if the power supply of the device is disturbed, an alarm will immediately be sent to the carer and, if desired, to the relatives.
In a prolonged situation, Axitare also receives a notification and closely monitors the situation. If necessary, we can contact the home care staff.
We continuously monitor other functions of the device as well, such as battery life. If the battery power seems to be reduced, we immediately react to the situation and, if necessary, deliver a new replacement device.
In situations requiring maintenance, we are able to solve 90% of cases remotely.
Finnish equipment manufacturing and maintenance
Axitare’s locked medication dispenser robot is a completely Finnish innovation, and the devices are manufactured in our own premises in Helsinki.
Our service is also located in the same premises. When the dispenser is returned to Axitare, it is refurbished to match a new one and released for use again.
We invest in lasting materials and design in our devices.
